Buying Aggressive Inline Skates

I have been aggressive skating for over a decade now and was able to go into my local skate shop and purchase new skates when I began. The times have changed and many of these local shops, including my own, have been closed down. Most all purchases must be made online now a days. Buying online is not a huge problem but there is some knowledge and information that is great to have when going to purchase a pair of aggressive skates.

Sizing and Fit

Many aggressive inline skaters worry they will not get the proper fit and sizing when they are buying online. If you simply buy the size you think you are going to take in relevance to your shoe size this could be true. The name of the game when buying aggressive skates online is to do some research. Doing some research and going over the different styles of skates and the fit you can expect from one brand to another can save you from getting an ill fitting pair of aggressive skates.

Size charts:

You can find tons of size charts online for all the different brands of aggressive skates. Some of these size charts will show you that you simply take the same size as your shoe but some of them will show you that you need a different size. Some aggressive skate manufacturers run the same as shoe, some a size below and some run small so you have to go a size up. Check out size charts for the most popular brands here.

Fit:

An aggressive skate is not going to fit 100% accurate right out of the box. Understanding that there will be a break in period is a big plus. When you first put your new pair of aggressive skates on they may feel too small. Most all aggressive skates will break in roughly a 1/2 size from how they fit when you first try them on. Knowing this will save you from returning skates that are a bit snug and buying a pair larger that will break in and be too large.

Performance:

Just like in any sport there is different levels of equipment. Whether a beginner aggressive skater or a professional you will need different skates depending on your skating level and the amount of time you spend aggressive skating. You can spend as little as $100 on new aggressive skates or you can spend up to $300 or more on a pair of aggressive skates. Much like any sport though it’s not necessary that everyone has the top of the line equipment and it makes a world of difference to some aggressive skaters. Looking at an aggressive skate buying guide is the best practice to ensure you know the most about the product you’re looking at.

Additional Outlets for Information

You can get some additional information by watching aggressive skate review videos. These videos will give you a better idea of how certain aggressive skates will perform. Another great idea is to join the Yahoo answers community. In Yahoo answers you can browse already answered questions or ask a question about a certain aggressive skate or brand.

About the Author

My name  is Chris and I absolutely love sports. Mostly I enjoy aggressive skating and skateboarding. Some people believe all aggressive skaters hate skateboarders and vice versa. In some cases this is true but I do both and enjoy both cultures; if this is frowned upon than so be it. It’s my life and they are both my passions.
